A Christmas ornament beckons [re-edit, see description]

Derek Lyons has added a photo to the pool:

A Christmas ornament beckons [re-edit, see description]

Original description

The Norwegian Pearl viewed from the top of Mt Roberts as dusk falls... Her lights beckoning through the cold like a Christmas tree on a winter's eve.

Re-edit comments:

Not the easiest picture I've ever taken... My hands are freezing because I didn't have adequate gloves, and I'm jamming the camera into a window frame to avoid blur... Yet, when "Seen From Above" appeared as today's topic in the Our Daily Challenge group, this shot immediately leapt to mind,

I've never been really happy with the original edit (linked in the comments below), so I decided to start again from scratch. After all, I have learned a thing or three over the last two and a half years about editing...

The big changes (other than a better understanding of levels and contrast), is a heck of a lot less blue and a heck of a lot less dark. I added a lot of blue to the images when I originally edited them to try and convey cold... and in retrospect, that didn't really work. I did add back in just a touch of blue cooling filter at the end of this edit, as the other adjustments did throw the color off a bit. The same goes for the darkness, in retrospect it didn't say twilight/blue hour as well as I thought it did at the time.

Ah well, live and learn.
