Perhaps one of the most beautiful pics I'll ever take. And also one of the most challenging ones. Here I am standing in front of this lovely cabin at Finca Del Sol, on the small Island of Ometepe, Nicaragua and above me an awesome night sky. The bright star in the centre is Sirius and you can pretty easily make out Orion in the top right corner. You can also make out one of the distant arms of the Mily Way. The main galactic centre is further down in the Souther hemisphere at this point of time.
Earlier in the day I knew the skies would be clear and I had already planned this shot. But it was not easy - no tripod, only a stool and some story books as support. But in the end it came out wonderful. I have never seen a sky so clear. No light pollution at all here!!
