Jesse Therrien has added a photo to the pool:
This is my real second attempt at a startrails shot.
Same setup as last time, except I have a different camera. Being a full frame sensor it captures light easier so my ISO didn't have to be as high. The "burst" of light on the bottom right hand side is actually light pollution from Fort Saskatchewan... I actually like the effect/look it added to this photo.
I cropped out most of the field as it was quite orange, but wanted to keep the forest line/house lights.
Set up:
Tripod
5DMKII
RS-80N3
Shot for 30 secs @ f/6.3, ISO 1250 for 40 minutes (batteries died from lack of charging beforehand)
Stitched together with www.startrails.de/html/software.html
Decided not to shoot at polaris for a different look.
Lessons learned:
- Bring extra batteries or make sure you have charged batteries.
- Do this when it is warmer!
- Try this in the mountains.
