Wilder Kaiser panorama in HDR

Wilder Kaiser panorama in HDR

Wilder Kaiser (Wild Emperor) is a part of Kaiserbirge, over 20km long and 280 sq. km large mountain range in between Tyrolean city of Kufstein and a small town of St. Johann in Tirol.

Highest peak of the mountain range is Elmauer Halt (2344m) in the middle.

This image was taken from Pengelstein peak in Kitzbüheler Alps, Austria during winter 2012. The week I spent in the area was cold, much colder than usually. As typical morning weather was below -20 degrees Celsius, I was able to take my equipment with me only one day. Luckily the weather was fine on that one day.

This image was shot handheld with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 70-200 F/4L @ 70mm. I bracketed four different images. I first created four separate HDR images which I then stiched together. Unfortunately I didn't have CPL filter with me so sky has few darker spots. Nevertheless, I'm quite satisfied with the result.
