Horned Frog (Ceratophrys cornuta)

Apebrains has added a photo to the pool:

Horned Frog (Ceratophrys cornuta)

The Suriname or Amazon Horned Frog, a close relative of the well known PacMan Frog in an up-close head-on shot. These frogs get very large and are known to cannibalize their own kind, as well as other species from within their genus. They are voracious feeders, and will consume almost any living that that will fit into their mouth. They are named for the fleshy 'horns' above their eyes.

Shot with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens mounted to a Canon 7D. It was lit with a Canon 580 EX II flash to the right of the subject, diffused through a white umbrella, with a silver reflector to the left of the subject.
