A fun annual party in Austin.

A first sighting of this reptile and boy am I glad :).Seeing it flash it's gular sac, glide and then loose track of it's location was special. These guys seemed to have perfected the art of evolution.

Someone once told me that the more you do good work, the more people will want you to fail... And lately i have been seeing this...People criticise my work giving me no good reasons, people that used to comment my work, don't do it anymore.....I know there is competition and that will always be a part of the world...But is sad to see that the opinion of some people is based on fear of competition...

The good news?

Those who do constructive criticism, those who like your work (or don't but gives you good reason) and do say it and all the people who still support you are still the ones that matter.

It was a March morning and went to the beach with my wife, the could banks allowed for a little extra time. The beams of light from the sun radiated from behind the clouds creating this solemn moment.

The distinctive eyespots and white bars on the upper wing identify this butterfly. The eyespots likely serve to startle or distract predators, especially young birds. They feed on nectar as well as getting liquids from mud and wet sand. Larval food plants are members of the snapdragon and plantain families.

Sad day for Falmouth Beach Resort Hotel

The Falmouth Beach Resort Hotel sits on the sea front over looking Gyllyngvase beach. It is a stunning location and has fond memories for me. I proposed to my wife here and have enjoyed several stays here with balcony views across the bay.

So it was sad to read today that the hotel has suffered a tragic fire.
