The Michigan Ave lift bridge built around 1960 to replace the previous bridge that was damaged by an unmanned freighter that broke loose from its moorings. The Michael K. Tewksbury hit the bridge dammaging it beond repair on January 21, 1959. In the background is the First Niagara Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres
