It's always startling when you come across a Cobra on the road, as I did this one in morning light in Uruguay. It had been driven long and hard, with so many smashed bugs on it that two birds were busy cleaning the car of their scraps (one by the windscreen, one by the right front tire). But really, the car was MADE for driving, with performance statistics in the mid-1960s that were unheard of for a production model that could do more than drive in a straight line (e.g. 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds). When I first got my driver's license, growing up in Detroit, this was what my peers and I lusted after (OK, it was ONE of the things...) Maybe someday, after I win the lottery... Yep, the stuff of dreams.
