This was an unusual capture for me today, one of the pairs of Great Blue Heron came up the cove and one kept gaining altitude and the other decided to land in a dead tree within fifty feet of me but I could not see it because of all the leaves and growth. I worked my way around several trees but I was still on the wrong side because of the suns direction so I kept going around the edge of the water and underbrush which was very thick. Finally I got into position to try to capture this large bird sitting in the tree and it was looking to see where I was at. I could go no futher because of water so I had to take a few shots from the position I was in. The Heron let me get a few snaps and away it flew. I could not believe how awesome it looked up in the tree. In my excitement I did not leave enough room at the bottom of my capture, ohh well I will try again sometime !!
