And one for the embittered
Yep, I voted yesterday. What a lovely thing this Democracy is.
Except when it fails. And you begin to understand why. After all, when you put that kind of authority in the hands of irrational, emotionally compromised beings who have clearly demonstrated their inability to accept any amount of responsibility and reluctance to analyze facts, it shouldn't be so surprising that the leaders they choose are a bunch of overgrown toddlers tossing their toys about the living room.
Well, one nice thing. No more attack ads, no more lies and distortions, no more of those aesthetic atrocities that were campaign signs in people's yard ruining the most picturesque time of the year, and for fuck's sake, no more phone calls from "Linda McMahon" waking me up after a friggin' night shift!
At least, no more of it for another two years.
It's sad, though, that it's those very pubescent character assassinations and distortions of truth that resonate with the voters. And my fellow countrymen wonder why I've so little faith in their moral courage and intellectual acuteness.
But then, as Plato says, a good man would never actively seek to rule, but would do all within his power to avoid it. What, then, are we left with?
First shot I've posted taken with my 50D. I love that camera.
