Legend has it that a local lass spurned in love drowned herself in this mill pond and ever since that day not a ripple has disturbed the water.
It is quite true that even on a windy day there are no ripples on this pond, probably due to the fact that it is in a sheltered location more then anything else, but a lovely story nonetheless!
What it does have is beautifully clear water.
