OK I didn't make the early rise, woke up at 8am. So I decided a long walk was order of the day, as I'm in Melton for the weekend I decided to walk along the local river (The Eye), there is a fenced area along the river and guess who was in residence.
This was a bit of an experiment, I whacked the ISO up to 3200 for this one and used fill in flash. I have to say there is no obvious evidence of flash in this image and the feeling is very much natural light, the shutter speed came out at 1/60th of a second, I was using a monopod for stability. The main issue when I got this home was noise, it was really quite bad, but after a bit of Lightroom magic, it's not too bad. OK the detail level has dropped off a bit and there is still a slight hint of noise, but overall as an image I liked the result :o)
I also did some ultra high mag macro of Collembola, using x2 sets of extension tubes on the MP-E at full extension, now that was interesting, I may post an example later :o)
