Above the clouds below

Taken from the summit of Mount Pilatus, Lucerne’s “Dragon Mountain”. From the top you can get spectacular views of the Alps and central plains including 73 peaks and 6 lakes. In this image you can see the main part of Lucerne on the left and the peak of Mount Rigi on the right.

I did the Golden Round Trip to reach Pilatus Kulm (summit). Boat cruise on Lake Lucerne from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, the Pilatus Railway – with a 48% gradient, the world’s steepest cogwheel railway – to the summit and return via three Gondola rides to the town of Kriens where you take a bus back to Lucerne. A great day out!!
