HSBC Central. Hong Kong

HSBC Central. Hong Kong

Occupy Central protesters have resisted efforts by court bailiffs to evict them from the plaza beneath the HSBC headquarters. Only about five protesters were present when the eviction began at 930am. They were given half an hour to leave, but refused. More protesters then arrived to support them, and minor scuffles broke out between the group and security guards. Workers started taking away furniture and tents, while the occupiers demanded a full explanation of the court eviction order from the bailiffs. The camp at HSBC was established last October, as part of a global anti-capitalism movement. The High Court had issued an order giving them two weeks to leave.
