Here's my photo for Brooke Shaden's September contest "Mystery & Intrigue". When I thought about what I wanted to shoot, one of my favorite plays Intrigue & Love (written by Friedrich Schiller) came to my mind. It's about how intrigues destroy the love between Ferdinand and Luise. If you haven't read it yet, you definitely should ;) It's great.
So for this picture I thought of a scheming villain whose actions are selfish. He hides his identity under a cloak and even though he may seem nice and the words leaving his mouth sound sincere, he lives at the expense of someone else to reach his goals. The flower stands for what he says and the knife for what he does. In the river he tries to cover the tracks that might convict him.
