Sankaty Head Lighthouse in Nantucket in the morning fog. BTW, this contradicts Photoshopped lighthouse beams that spread out quickly; lighthouses use mirrors or lenses to focus the beam so that it reaches further to sea

OK - I'm afraid that it's another cheesy title. If anyone thinks of anything better I'd be happy to change it!
Another shot from my early morning shoot in Marmaris - Turkey. This was a private pier which belonged to a 5 star hotel, the owner of which was having a beer with his friends at 5.55 am in the morning! I was not sure if he was just starting or just ending the day! I asked for permission to take a few shots and he kindly obliged, then he tried to persuade me to stay at his hotel next time I visit!
I feel that I cut this shot a little fine on the crop and with retrospect might have postioned the camera slightly lower to get more pier and less sky. That said, the pier was actually cordoned off, so I had to balance my tripod over the cordon, to get any shot at all.

In 1863, during the Civil War, the U.S. Army established Camp Reynolds on Angel Island to protect San Francisco Bay. The island later became a garrison for infantry companies, including infantry serving in campaigns against American Indians in the West.

Week 7/52
Trying to maybe actually somehow catch up with a couple of the vast amount of weeks that i've missed so far!
This was the first time I've ever tried using textures.. I think i went a bit overboard.
During this whole shoot i was freaking out that by somehow my tripod would just collapse making my camera fall straight into the bath filled with nakedness and milk. So happy it didn't.. Obviously that would've sucked.
Originally planned for this picture to have flowers floating around on the milk/water surface but after shooting and editing them in they just looked a bit weird and random, so i got rid of them. Also couldn't decide whether or not the hands looked really weird but without it just seemed to empty, so i included them :)
Definitely got the idea from Sarah

On our latest drive to Calgary I had to stop in at Athabasca Falls. It was a beautiful sunny day with barely a cloud in the sky. It did make the shadows a bit tricky on the lower falls, so I decided to compose it like this. Definitely one of my favorite places within Jasper National Park.

Aquatics Centre, Olympic Park London - 6th May 2012 20:35
The Aquatics Centre is one of three permanent venues on the Olympic Park in Stratford and will, rather unsurprisingly, be used for the swimming and diving events at the London 2012 Olympics. The 17,500 seater centre will be cut to a capacity of 2,500 after the games with the removal of the 'wings' - which should, in my view, show the true beauty of the building.
This panorama has been created from 4 shots (2 frames), I have further tweaked the image in post production to try and iron out some perspective "issues" caused by the wide angle lens. So, whilst it isn't technically perfected it was my favourite from my short series from the Olympic Park, thanks mostly to the subtlety of the lighting.

This is my last of my Olympic Park images for now, but I hope to add more closer to, and during the Olympics.
